Removing adhesive tape interior

Probaly a dumb question, but does anyone know how I can remove an aftermarket part without damaging the original part? I know they aren't meant to be removed, but I see a lot of mods are applied by glue/tape on the back of the aftermarket part and was wondering if anyone had any success removing the aftermarket part once applied on the original part.
