I just picked up a torque wrench for my 2017 Sport Touring hatch with 18" wheels. Couple questions.

Is 19mm the correct socket size for the lug nuts?

Is it better to use a deep socket, or a shallow socket with an extension?

Thanks everyone.

It’s 19mm, I have a set of sockets specifically for lugnuts. You can get just the 19mm one for well under $10.

When it comes to these wheels, which I love, once you have them properly torqued I'll admit that the best thing to have on hand is a black industrial marker (or sharpie) to touch up the inevitable curb rash. ?

I used to do that, but couldn't keep up! My rims are so rashed up, but now I end up parking so far away from curbs.

Be careful using the torque wrench to loosen the lugs. If they are torqued higher than your wrench goes, you could damage the wrench.
Personally, I only use the torque wrench to tighten them. I use the stock wrench to bust them loose.

Oh yes, great point and one I've heard before. Understand how it would be bad for spring-based torque wrenches like my cheapy one from HF but seems like a good rule in general.

Instead of a torque wrench to loosen things, my progression usually goes like this: wrench, socket, breaker bar, pipe, hammer & Honey, can u pls hand me the bigger hammer? But that's usually with suspension parts, not lug nuts.
