So....
Weather is -2 degrees (~28f).
After 5 minutes drive, he pulls out first and second gear, but because of anti-spin is still on and road is a bit wet he doesn't mange to full RPM (at least sounds like it).

Thought?

Nope... They said they needed the car to evaluate the value of the car for trade since I'm considering to sell it. This dealer is even a part of Mercedes chain.

Yet another piece of evidence as to why I cannot stand taking my car to a dealer, or any place that has rights to my car

I'd be OK with it if the car had ideal operating temperature on oil, cooling and engine. But not five minutes after start in - 2 degrees.
Also... What's the point, on wet road and soft wintertires?

Since it's for a trade-in I understand, but I'd want to be physically present and in the car.

This scares me from dealerships too. What do you mean by right though? That statement had me confused

What do you mean by right though?
i.e. window tint shop, stereo shop, wheel shop, etc.

I literally do not leave my car with anyone. I had an after market stereo installed, I told them the mileage on the car down to the tenth of the mile, and told them I would not leave the premises without my car. I had to sit there for 5 hours, but no one drove my car more than 40 feet

you get to test drive their car before you buy it,

they have the right to test drive your car before they buy it
Well... As I said... I wouldn't mind if the engine and oil had normal temp.
This is basically done one a ice cold engine.

I dont think they would have been ok with him test driving an S class and treating it like this.

That tech wanted to go for a rip imo

It was delivered 0730 in the morning, and I picked it up again 1200 after lunch.
They drove it after its been standing over 2 hours outside in - 2 degrees.

If they drove it right after. I wouldn't make this thread.

Granted this isn’t my car so of course it’s easier for me to say this but...

yes. I do agree with you he could’ve let it warm up more but as he was a person in the dealership I don’t think they have the liberty to wait around to warm up the car completely. Of course I would’ve wanted it warmed up too but I think that was beyond the thoughts of the person who only wanted to test drive the car, which another poster mentioned, they have right to test drive the car if your trading it in.

On the plus side is that he didn’t look like he was abusing the car and was even in the right lane. If he really wanted to abuse the car he could’ve been flogging the car in the left lane at higher speeds.

if that were my car, would I be happy? No I wouldn’t. Was he abusing the car? Not really. Could’ve been much worse. I got my stick shift 2003 Accord back With grooves cut into the front tires from what looked like from someone doing burnouts with it.

How many miles are on the car btw?
