In my search for a CTR, I had a dealer tell me today that Championship White was... quite rare. I was told that there were only 100 CW cars made for the 2019 model year (US market) and as a result they marked the car up considerably.

Can anyone confirm this figure? Are some colors produced more than others?
The dealer meant it was "rare" for him to actually sell one (in white or any other color).

Manipulation-101.

Age as in how long on lot has more to do with it than color. Local FL dealer +&10K over MSRP.

Atanta dealer with few hundred of MSRP. They had 3, new gray and wanted $1,500 more as newest on lot, they said due to new color. I didnā€™t like the new pearl gray in person. Although it changes some based on lighting, overall I felt it was Rustoleum primer gray with coffee creamer. The next oldest silver had been there just over 30 days, same price as red thatā€™d been there 60 days but they werenā€™t going to charge for the window rain guards, tinted windows, or cargo mat.

I drove it home that eve, about 300 miles. Next day, went to local dealer and bought wheel damage warranty. They asked about where I got mine. I was sure to say outside sales Mgr office that with $300 one way ticket, (got Shell gas card from dlr) I saved over $9,500 in ATL.

The color trick is. BS because all Type Rs are as rare as you want to pay.

Before heading home to NW FL I took a short trip N just to put an R in DACULA, GA being it was near Halloween. A hot looking lady went by, checking out my new ride... Vamp ire?

Actually, I think CW is the most common color from what I saw around Seattle -
1) on the street, about 40% is white, and other colors make up the rest
2) went to Ridge motorsports in April 2019, and there were 5 CW and 1 red.

Please do more search and find the color you like at or below MSRP. The shipping cost is typically $1K (give or take). I actually bought and shipped my CW CTR from El Paso, TX and costed me $1,000.

Hope this helps.

When I was looking the 2 dealers close to me were douchebags. Both wanted $5k over MSRP. One guy said they waited a year for the SGP

I got mine at sticker at a dealer about an hour away. I made sure to stop by the the 2 dealers near me and rub it in their faces.

When I got my CTR I did it all over the phone. I even told them the money factor, residual, etc. I told them the payment, they confirmed all the details over the phone. Went to dealer and about an hour later I was driving her home.

Do your homework, don't give those scumbags and inch.

I only had one BS dealer that contacted me. It was March 2018 (so the car had only been out for a year) and was told that there was no way I'd get one at MSRP and they could work with me on getting the 10k ADM lowered if I waited 3 months. Also told me that in order to do this I'd need to get on a waiting list and advised me to do it ASAP as people had been on this list for 5+ years now. I called BS since the car had barely been out for 1 and announcement didn't even hit 2. Call ended there. Few hours later they called back and said they had a very rare black one coming in within the month that they could offer at a 4k ADM. Called BS on this too since I'd been following cars going in and out of my area on Honda's website and saw 3 black ones move in and sold within the past week. Salesman said that he was told to tell me that by his manager. Again assured me that it was not possible to find a car at MSRP. Second call ended there.

Eventually found one at MSRP and signed the paperwork for it. Next day that salesman calls back, I tell him I found one at MSRP and he doesn't believe me. Asks me to send him a picture of the invoice. I black out the contact information and send it to him. He called me back with the "oh shit I just fucked up a sale voice" and thanked me for letting him know other dealers were selling at MSRP and he'd pass that data along to his manager. No sure what ever happened with that the CTRs that dealership was selling (can't even remember the name of the dealer at this point to check).

CW is the only color I see consistently in SoCal, that dealer is an idiot, take your business somewhere else.

Why do you think they chose the name Boost Blue? You may think turbo and a copycat of Ford & Susie pigment, their time has passed even though great cars. Some feel that way about the CTR now several years old. I think the name is more of a marketing tool. Look, youā€™re quite familiar with what the R is and want something different, how about a color that says we can Boost the price with ADM and youā€™ll be Blue in the face trying to get that particular color for at least six months close to price of other colors. They did this last year with the crazy foggy gray and got a resounding... yawn. I do like the new blue better than the old Agean (I wonder how 2029 CTR owners feel now?). My only problem with the Boist Blue is I keep wanting to go up and take a bite and chew it, blow bubbles, fresh breath see (haaah).

Maybe some big company will do matching glossy wheels. It would then kinda need to be a 25 cent ride you plug in. If the future is wild colors, how about HPJ Yellow Fellow? Gecko Green (neon) and OMGosh Orange? Thereā€™s three more years of inflated ADM, youā€™re welcome Honda.
