From what I researched, it's a fuel purge line. I disconnected it to put DEI titanium thermal wrap on it and it was dry when I took it off. Haven't had any problems yet
Did you get the 1 inch diameter thermal wrap?

I used 1/2" and double wrapped the fuel purge line for extra "padding" and because I had a shit ton left over. I just did a single sleeve over the negative battery line. The wire coil shit they included went super soft and pliable with heat, and, honestly looked like doodoo. Gotta have a bit of aesthetic appeal, right?

literally this stuff

and I'm pretty sure I've posted this pic everywhere that this has been mentioned. lol

It came with some weird rings. Didn’t use.

Stock bolts reused.

Just installed this today 8/20/20. I got it last night. But I couldn't use the OEM bolts because the washer ring hits the Welding on the bar. And won't let me tighten it down all the way. As far as the plastic black rings you referred to as weird lol. Its the strut bar protector. I mean most people got the right idea about the heat and their wires. But its supposed to go on the bar. So I put it on the bar on both sides to look symmetrical. But it only needed the Battery side for the Neg wire and my Sub wires, they were still touching even though I retucked it. But the other line in the middle of the motor. I just wrapped the tube with it because I didnt wsnt tl cover up my DC Sports logo. Haha. I also zip tied the tube down to the one under it as well. Next up 27WON CAI is next install. Got everything in already. I did a bunch of interior stuff tho leds and other stuff I didn't post. So ill start posting now

Yep. Hopefully he doesn't install his 27won intake backwards too. o_O

The OEM bolts fit fine on mine. I torqued them down to 40 ft lbs. and they've held tight since day 1.

When I saw the OP's pics, I couldn't believe my eyes. Reminded me of when I was a kid and wrapped the bottom of my baseball bat with black tape.

Is your SI strut stock?

Unlike most non-SI folks, their OEM strut stud often shown threads below OEM flange nuts after torque!

Unless SI has longer studs on top hat.

Very nice engine bay, by the way!

Oem nuts didn't clear the welds on my dc bar. They looked close enough, but they were grinding against the welds, and didn't fit flat. Supplied nuts worked much better. I ended up going with cusco strut bar a month later.

Did you remove the hose to wrap it?

The bar (long part) is fine. Just the strut top area. Anyone have this issue? Rusting/paint chipping heavily, will probably need to paint it myself.
