Ok so after getting my first ever speeding ticket yesterday, I am accelerating the radar detector purchase, just bought the Escort Max 360 last night and ordered a mirror mount and hard wire kit.

I am going to be running the wire behind everything and making it very tight because I really don't want to see any wire anywhere. I know that I am also going to be hard-wiring a dashcam in the same manner pretty soon since I am very neat and clean about the interior of my car.

I've read a couple DIY posts but I haven't seen many people hard-wire both the dashcam and radar detector and maybe that is the better place to post this, but I wanted to see if anyone has hard-wired both to their car and which fuses they chose? I am hoping to get a dashcam with a "parking" mode so that it can record while the car is off and sitting. So that one is going to need constant power. Can anyone recommend fuse locations for the radar detector and constant power dashcam?

*Side question on "parking" mode, Is there any risk to the battery of the vehicle overnight if the dashcam is draining constant power? Is that something that if I was going on vacation for a week I would want to unplug the camera?

Get an amp meter and test your fuses? See what has 12v with the key on, then turn the key off and check those same fuses. Easy peasy. You could also check the amps on the fuses (need to unplug the fuse and bridge the gap with your meter) to make sure you won't be overloading and popping them. As long as the draw is low enough, you could use one fuse for both the cam and radar. That depends entirely on how many amps you're trying to draw through which fuse.

Forsure thanks for the advice I might do that. Was just also trying to see if anyone had done it and had already chosen a good fuse or fuses. But I'll look into this as well

I was going to use #1 Accessory . Do you know which side is the Hot side of the fuse. I don't have a Multimeter. If I'm looking at the fuse box # 1 is the bottom right fuse. But don't know the hot side. Any suggestions?
Thank You!

I haven't gotten the 360 yet. Ordered the wrong one and had to cancel apparently.

LOL I actually just covered this in a thread and saw yours as I was browsing this sub-forum.

http://www.civicx.com/threads/diy-front-rear-dashcam-hardwire-install-on-17-hatchback.9209/

My thread should cover it all for you, radar detector can tap into almost anything. For that you may want to use the "Accessory" fuse (#1) or "Front Power Socket" (#29) as they are both only powered on when the car is on.

Also as far as battery voltage overnight it depends. My Thinkware goes into a lower power state and monitors the voltage being supplied. It will automatically shut off after 24/48/72 hours (user preference) and will also automatically shut off if it sees the voltage drop while parked (within a user defined threshold)

I've had mine on various cars for almost 2 years and have had zero issues with my car's batteries.

Ok I like that. I was going to get the street guardian. I don't want a two camera system. Could I use it as a one camera system/would you recommend it?

on the 360 you have autopower.
When AutoPower is ON, the display will go dark
after the vehicle has been sitting still for 30 minutes, to
save screen life. The screen will turn back on automatically
once your vehicle reaches a speed of 10 mph.
You can set it for 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours, and will completely shutdown.

Here is the manual, if you want to read on it.
https://www.escortradar.com/pdf/2015-Max360_OwnersManual.pdf

Note: When you power it on, hold down the MRK and MUTE buttons. This will tell you the firmware version. If it doesn't say version 1.5, update it with Escort Detector Tools
