Car isn't even 3 months old, and I'm already seeing this part of the dashboard crack...I even have a sunshade at all times.

Anyone else notice the same issue?

Looks like fading. Did you ever clean or dress it with any products?

Not seeing anything bruh
I marked two pics in red whats actually cracking, yellow whats the normal pattern.

Never. The most that touched that was a drop of water used with a microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints.

Sorry but this is just nitpicking...
Don't see how its nitpicking if its actually cracking with less than 3 months.

that the oem pleather texture.
The OEM texture is marked in yellow in the pictures. The texture is a horizontal "scratch" looking pattern, whereas the areas I marked in red that are actually cracked have a different pattern as you can see.

Yes, always. Neither where I live or where I work have a garage.

Could it be UV damage? That part of the dash is obviously some sort of plastic with a vinyl (maybe) overlay, so it's probably that?

I think if it really bothers you you can buy more vinyl (3M Carbon Fibre, or something) and cover it up?

It looks like there's not much you can do, especially if you have no choice but to park in sunlight/heat

Oh yeah, definitely. I did plan on getting some of the colored vinyl for inside. I was just surprised how easily it has started to crack.

Now to gain some courage to put the vinyl there. Worried I'd do more damage than it already has lol

It's essentially a large sticker so it's not too hard. Interior pieces even more so.

GL!

My fear is messing with the heat gun. Based on what other people had said, they needed to use one to stretch the vinyl out.

That's usually for harsh curves for body panels, etc. That dash piece is very flat so no issue. You can use a hair-dryer as it's less hot than a heatgun.

That should make it easier. I'll try that then. Have you done it to your car?
