Where is this sensor located? My backlights (climate control cluster, shift position indicator, ambient floor and roof light) are not on at all right now. I think it may be disconnected.
Its that circular little 'bump' towards the middle of the front part of the dash.

im having the same problem chew!!!
I think (and I may be wrong) in daytime with auto headlights set, the only way to adjust the brightness on the screen is to use the little "tab" at the top left corner of the screen. That will display a brightness adjustment setting that will only adjust the screen (gauge lights stay the same). You may be able to sue this at night too. Using the round knob at night doesn't give you much of a range...it's either full brightness and then one click darker seems too dark.

Yes the dealer replaced the instrument cluster in about a total of 2 days ( part shipped and installled) everything working great... went back to audio shop and had my 4 channel compact jl audio amp installed again same way.... no problems everything working fine... must have jus been bugged part being new vehicle

Did you uninstall everything before you took it to the dealer? Was it covered under warranty? I only have 4,000 miles on my car

I Didnt touch anything ... took it straight to the dealer they diagnosed it then had the audio shop tech come out and uninstall the amp to see if being put back to stock would fix the problem and it didnt so honda then called their engineers and they knew the problem right away gave me a rental car for 3 days ordered the part received it and put it in and everything was covered. Honda really wanted to blame audio express but putting an amp in your car is a common upgrade that will not defect warranty... the part has been defective in 17 models... the amp was tied into the power source going to the radio itself and some speaker wire... those connections have nothing to do with the back lighting

Damn sounds like a bitch. I really do not want to pull out my amp since its under the seat nicely. Yeah that back lighting is a pain in the ass too I have to turn on the dome lights to see what I'm pressing. I'll mention all of this though.

Same problem
My instrument cluster and infotainment screen will dim randomly
Usually happens when its sunset or on a cloudy day and the sensor doesnt know if it should be on night or day mode
Does anyone know how to adjust the light sensor's sensitivity?
