Damon’s Coupe

Well I have been trolling here for about a month so I decided to start posting my ride. Mainly so I have a record of changes I have made.

So here is my coupe, I have really enjoyed this car, I just rolled 21k miles on it.

Currently, this is completely stock except for the tint (dealer installed) and WeatherTech floormats (bought before I found this forum).

I just cleaned it up (Chemical Guys products) so here are the first pictures I am posting.

I have learned a lot reading this forum and have a busy weekend ahead of me.

I will post pictures as I go.

OK, I couldn’t wait until tomorrow to start.

I installed white interior LED’s and smoked side markers.

I really like the way they look. I can’t wait to black out the chrome.

God that paint looks amazing! Kudos to you, I know how hard it is to keep black looking mint like that.

Hey Civiccoupe,

Those wheels are sweet! I am trying to decide on what to do for wheels, I have looked a bunch but haven’t made a decision yet.

I will be doing the Hondata flash today so I will let you know how it goes.

I am also going to start blacking out the chrome on it.

We will see how far I get.

So today went good and bad.

I started out with the FlashPro. It is very easy to do and works very well. It really only took about 5 minutes to complete. This is money well spent. I played around with it for a while and then decided to start blacking out my chrome trim.

I tried my hand at plasti dipping. There is a lot of work here, it took me all day to complete. In the end it looks pretty good but I am very much a perfectionist and it is not perfect. I did several parts of the car more than one time and it still is a little rough.

The dip is pretty smooth, I was expecting it to act like paint but there are little flaws here and there that I don’t know if I can live with or not.

The last picture is of the H emblem on the back. If you look closely you can see little bubbles in it. I have tried over and over to fix this but can’t get it right.

All that said, if you stand 2 feet away from the car you can’t tell at all.

I will leave it for the week and see what I think then.

The lens was a 24-105 f4 L series lens. Not the best but wide enough for this.

The flashpro is really cool, I grew up building old muscle cars.
This is the first time I have programmed an ECU. Needless to say, I just did the base +6psi flash.
However, it was really easy to do and I do notice a difference.
I can't tell anything from a dead start but once you are above 2500 or 3000 rpm it becomes really noticeable.

Tomorrow is Easter so the sway bar and the strut bar will have to wait.
