I would be Shocked if the FL5 is not in BS.
I know the lap times are not too much faster than the FK8 but the advantage of being able to run 18x9.5 and fitting a 275 or larger is huge and will for sure justify it landing in BS.
275s fit on an 8.5 ;)

Yeah I'm thinking 295 up front and maybe a 275 in the back just because heating up more tire that that will be a chore.

I see people fitting the biggest tire they can no matter what. Think SS or SSR lol.
I do agree that getting heat in the rears might be a struggle but not so much the fronts.

Yeah I was referring to the staggered rear setup. People might try to stuff more on the 9.5 up front.

Doing God's work, @StevenMatchett updating the Type R finder for the FL5. Probably gonna have to wait a year or two for MSRP deals to be had, but I'll be lookin lol. Too bad the FL5 is almost assuredly going to be buried in BS.

Maybe not! With the new GR86, they may place the FL5 in DS. We will just have to wait and see.
doubt it. DS is a strong class numbers wise, since the fl5 wont be able to be purchased in abundant numbers there is no reason to kill DS with the fl5.

That said, if it does go into BS its definetly a contender. might not be "the car" but the fk8 up intill 2018 maybe 2019 wasnt "the car" either.

I think it makes 100% sense for right now. The LE was also "classed away" in BS due to availability. With the results at nationals so close between the Twins and the CTR's and knowing that the FL5 is going to be very hard to obtain in the foreseeable future it makes sense to also "class it away" in BS.

I do think you have a point though, in 3-4 years once there is a new "top" of DS or FL5 availability is more wide spread, moving the 23+ CTR's back to DS makes sense.

I don’t know why anyone thinks it’s buried in BS. Last year the top type r would have been 3rd in Bs if I recall. That said the fk8 has raw time BS on many occasions.

I do think it belongs in Bs just like the LE on availability alone. If they’re really only bringing 1000 of them into the states this year that’s not many to get into autocrossers hands. Put it in DS it becomes the car to have and for the lucky few to get them that’s not fair. Especially when DS is quite healthyof a class right know.

I am lucky to have got an fl5 at sticker. Is it the car to have. Probably not but I think it will compete.
