Hello, new member and first post on this site!! based in Australia
I drive a 2018 Civic Hatch Vti-L 1.5 VTEC. Currently has 21,000km
Recently have been noticing something that resembles transmission slippage under moderate acceleration.
1) Most recently I was driving 80km/h on freeway and accelerated to get to 100km/h and instead of the pull of acceleration, the car went limp and I could hear and feel this ticking/clicking from the drivers side of the Engine bay. It almost felt like it was going to stall. Then within milliseconds of lifting the accelerator pedal it seems to normalise. To me it seems like there is a miscommunication between transmission and engine during Acceleration.
2) Issue presents itself when the car is loaded with people or weight in the boot going up a slight incline at low speed. It feels like the engine struggles under torque and this loss of power and clicking happens.
I have brought this issue to Honda dealer twice and twice they've said they are unable to replicate the issue and subsequently threaten to charge $150 for it to be run through diagnostics check. First time I reported, They recommended changing transmission fluid on next service, which happened to be last week but they didn't do it. I asked why and they said it wasn't necessary... even though that was a technicians recommendation from last report.
Has anyone else experienced similar? If so, any advice or guidance on an outcome or fix?
Any help or feedback would be great.
Thanks in advance.
