We got paddles in our CVTs we still get to have fun.
It’s not the same personally I’ve never owned a manual but to hold a CDL you’re required to operate a manual transmission on a truck I never wanted a manual on Long Island too many hills and a lot of traffic but I driven. Friends manual cars especially a friends 1970 454 chevelle with the m22 four speed and a few others and I driven auto with the paddle shifters it’s ok but it doesn’t have that feel of going through the gears like a manual I posted before with my bad knee I can’t do that clutch dance anymore

Trust me, a CVT with paddles is nothing like using a clutch and 6 speed manual gearbox.

I guess you could call your setup "simulated fun". ;)

I do enjoy the smooth ride that a CVT gives .

My partner has a type R anyway for fun fast drives.

Yup your right. I wonder why most people prefer an auto in stop and go traffic then? It must be because it’s harder than a manual. Makes sense now:crazy:

I liked the option of using the paddles with my previous Honda. But I could never get over the feeling that I was slowly killing the CVT when using them. And when I went back to a manual; the rev hang and clutch delay valve thingy just killed the fun (for me). That and my 53 year old knee made me learn to tolerate the CVT. I still don't like it, though.

It would be cool to shift gears in this thing

Actually those use an updated, reinforced version of the Accord CVT.

A CVT is truly better because you can drive and use NO FEET to drive!

And if your wondering what I mean... Set adaptive cruise control... Let car drive for you. Why bother with even braking or accelerating when the car can do it for you in heavy traffic.

Soon cars will drive themselves. But where’s the fun in that? Our muscles will atrophy along with fat bellies like those people in WALL-E. Progress.

EXACTLY -- each day, this world is getting a little less "FUN", and a little more dumbed down... with more and more restrictions and limitations.

As you say, fast becoming a WALL-E world, mixed in with a lot of Idiocracy world.

Coming from a 2017 Civic Sport Touring CVT, my new 2019 SI's manual transmission feels excellent compared to the cvt. No longer are the days of giving it gas and waiting for the shitbox transmission to do something. lol
