Autocrossed my car both days at proving grounds.
Ex-t cvt
Fbo/e30/ eibach springs / re71 tires

Day 1, 10th of 25 in class.
I was heat soaking bad and I could tell it was making the car really slow. I was pulling up to the line at 140 iats and ending the run at 130.

Day 2, 7th of 44 in class.
This day I used a weed sprayer to spray ice water on the intercooler, radiator, and inlet pipe in grid. This allowed me to pull up to the line at 115 and end runs at 100. I could feel a major power difference from the prior day. Ambient temps were the same.

My driving still needs a lot of work as I'm new to autocross, but I'm really happy with the car so far.

Cool, thanks.

Does your setup measure CVT temps, too? Iā€™m looking around the forums for solid info ā€” just told a friend that Iā€™m wary of autocrossing mine ā€” but I still havenā€™t found enough stories about durability.

No I did not have any sensor, nor did I have a cooler for it. My ext had full bolt ons and flex fuel E30. I daily drove it and probably did 15+ autocross events and took it to the drag strip once and ran a 13.6 1/4. Never had an issue. But then trade in values got so high I traded it in for way more than I paid even after putting 15k miles on it in a summer.
My biggest suggestion would be to change the cvt fluid more often than they recommend. Probably just do it every other oil change. It's not very hard to do, nor is it very expensive.

A Ktuner does read the CVT temps. Dont know about anything else though.

No sensor needed. It was a fairly recent addition (firmware update) to KTuner so I'm guessing the transmission temperature option wasn't available when Mrbadwrench had his EX-T.

Do you autocross in 'L' gear, to keep the rpms at max horsepower all the time? Just curious!

It was in L during the autocross.

I zoomed in, changed brightness and contrast and then you can recognize that the car was in D before and he put it into L right before the autocross started.

There you go, Myx. A year and a half later a definitive answer. šŸ˜†
