I saw Caraddict's video of cutting holes in his fake vent on the bumper for his CAI on his 2016 civic. I tried to do the same on my 2018 Si. There seems to be bumper material behind where I cut the holes. Has anyone done it on an Xgen that is not a 2016? Where, if anywhere, can I cut holes?

Yeah, you cut way too high. That's where the front impact bar is. I think you can pop off the fake vent parts from the outside and just cut it off the car? I feel like I've seen someone do it on this forum like that.

I think I can just mask off the fake vent and spray flat black paint through the holes. I think it will then become invisible. If I ever add an intercooler and have the bumper off, I might buy a new fake vent and cut only the holes lower down.

Nothing to worry about rain unless you drive into a pool or submerge the entire intake filter in water. Which I find that hard to happen

the area next to the foglight has empty space behind it. your fine cutting holes there because thats where the radar would go if you had honda sensing
the last pic is my car

Is that a custom bumper? Do you have pictures of the front end?

nope, its just a plain jane sedan bumper. i just have the touring foglight garnish installed for the intake instead of the standard fog light cover

Oops, I'm seeing things. I thought you were having hatchback or Si bumper with the upper parts shaved. It tricks my eyes to believe that the actual black shroud on top is the shadow instead of black fog shroud. My bad.

Big thanks for this post with the part number. Makes things much easier.

Has anyone tested before/after installation of your foglight vents with either your stock or aftermarket intake?

Also, anyone have a preference on where to order this part from? I know there are many places online but I want to get this fairly quickly without having to pay a boat load in shipping cost. Just want to order from a vendor that'll get this out to me ASAP. It will be a good addition to the intake I'm trying to make. Thanks!

anyone notice any benefits from doing this so far? or has it mostly just been a cosmetic upgrade to the fake vents?
