I saw Caraddict's video of cutting holes in his fake vent on the bumper for his CAI on his 2016 civic. I tried to do the same on my 2018 Si. There seems to be bumper material behind where I cut the holes. Has anyone done it on an Xgen that is not a 2016? Where, if anywhere, can I cut holes?

the area next to the foglight has empty space behind it. your fine cutting holes there because thats where the radar would go if you had honda sensing

I would have just matched the holes with the other side vent, looks like you cut too high. But I'm interested in doing this, what are you cutting with?

I tried to match the holes that Caraddict did on his 2016. I drilled out the holes, then used a dremel tool and end nippers. I plan to use files to finish up. I may try to use a tool knife to do the new holes. I will mask off the area and use flat black spray paint to darken the background that shows through the holes I already cut.

I personally recommend to cut the holes so it has the same pattern as the passenger side vents. That way it looks factory. I did mine recently and i used a dremel tool i bought in harbor freight and drill bits. Cut them out carefully one by one and sand down the excess plastic so it looks neat.

Here is mine:

I did it when I took my bumper off. Not sure if it's doable without taking the bumper off.
It is. I did mine with bumper still on. Just loosen the back splash in front of the front tire so you can catch the pieces when you cut them.
