My experience was a heated blade can cut (2) sides of a diamond, then would have to reheat it. Also worked great cutting through underbody plastics and poking rivet holes for an oil cooler.

Thanks TypeRNY,
The HKS oil cooler kit normally comes with this mesh aka punching plate... but the cooler I picked up was 2nd hand (new) didn’t include it, so had to source it.

https://www.mcmaster.com/mesh

I think I went with the thinnest material with largest hole openings 0.25” 58% airflow. 24x24 sheet. This is only needed if you have an oil cooler or extra radiator.

this is awesome, where did you get your mesh for this?

what mesh did you use? So you just took the stock bezel, cut it out, and affixed your own mesh to it by small screws?
Yeah I cut all around went to Home Depot got me some mesh and cut it out and mold it into shape and screw it on simple

So I definitely want to open up the front fake vents, especially seeing that the PRL intake places the cone right behind the fake vent. However, I worry if this might cause water to be sucked in more when it's raining. Should I worry about this?

My plan to combat this was to waterjet a piece of aluminum to fit over the entire fake vent area and secure it with a few quarter turn fasteners so if I do have to drive through rain I can easily cover it up so water won't get sucked in, then just take it off whenever I want to. Thoughts?

The PRL intake does not sit behind the fake fog vent. It sits way up top. The upper slats of your front grill help act as a way to bring the air to the intake.

That also sounds like a lot of work to do every time it rains.

Have had zero issues with water getting in that area so as to cause any issues

Okay, it seemed like from the installation video that it was sitting way down there.

It wasn't meant to be difficult that's what the quarter turn fasteners were for, so you could even put them on with a key or a quarter. But if there isn't much water getting down there then nothing to worry about
