I’m getting a custom exhaust made for my 2018 civic ex-t coupe, deciding on 2.5 or 3” starting from the downpipe back, though the shop is saying 3” might be difficult/unrealistic due to ground clearance. This system will also include removal of the resonators and mufflers. Will there be a noticeable difference in sound between the 2.5” and 3”? will this increase performance in any way?

If it matters, my only other performance mods are Hondata +6psi tune and afe stage 2 CAI. Also a good chance of doing the PRL fp/do combo within 3-6 months.

IMO 3" is not needed for a 1.5L engine that is sub 400hp. 2.5 should be more than enough.

Your choice. There are multiple 3 inch systems that fit perfectly fine. So far as I have seen, no one has done tests on exhausts to see what makes power.
