When I priced amazon 2 weeks ago it was $118 or so..

OP, thanks for the post and inspiration. I also removed the factory sub and replaced with the same rockford sub. I also added sound deadening to the factory enclosure and all the surrounding areas. The sub is powered by a PBR300X1 and the sound is amazing! The amp fits in the the foam compartment under the floor with room to spare. Added a PC fan to help with heat.

OP, thanks for the post and inspiration. I also removed the factory sub and replaced with the same rockford sub. I also added sound deadening to the factory enclosure and all the surrounding areas. The sub is powered by a PBR300X1 and the sound is amazing! The amp fits in the the foam compartment under the floor with room to spare. Added a PC fan to help with heat.

Yes, 10” jl audio sub in a one cubic ft box...12”x12”x12” runnin 2ohm off the factory amp. Better but not bass heavy.

The factory amp is 4 ohm, no? I just want to replace with an 8" so I keep all the trunk space.

I know this has been for a while. but, can you tell me where you got the power supply for the new amp? is the factory amp supply nearby? or you did wire all the way from the battery? thanks!

You need to wire the amp to the battery. Don’t forget to add a fuse.
