Hi All,

I finally traded in my 2018 SI for a 2020 SGP CTR. I knew that the MPG was gonna be much worse on the CTR but i've also noticed that when on the freeway cruising around 80 mph the RPMs are around 3.3.

Compared to when I had my SI, I remember cruising around 80 MPH the RPMs were around 2.8.

Is this normal for the CTR to be revving high while on the freeway just cruising? I'm assuming this is just due to a larger engine

Due to gear ratios and final drive. 5th and 6th gear are very long. It's normal. When you shift to 6th from the top of 5th @140mph you drop into the mid 5k range. Not sure what the top of 6th actually is. Probably around 186 mph. I've gotten to 6.6k rpm and was at 166mph. So with 400+ rpm left I know it goes a good bit higher than the advertised top speed.

The car even on stock exhaust gets pretty boomy once you go above 80

Don’t stress over it, you can still easily achieve 30+ mpg on the highway. Given the relative performance, that’s pretty great!

Gears 5 and 6, well all the gears, are super short on the CTR. It is like that by design. It would be nice to have a slightly longer 6th gear, but it’s probably set up that way to optimize lap time on the Ring (or something like that ?).
