right now only the 2017 is in the bulletin because the 2018 came from the factory with the "updated harness"I wonder if it'll extend to MY18 owners since apparently it affects us too.
It’s not a recall it’s a tsb. You have to call the dealership to see if your harness needs to be replaced.
So what you're saying is you believe that they need to check my harness to see if it has been updated. If it has, they won't do anything, if it hasn't, they're supposed to replace it.It’s not a recall it’s a tsb. You have to call the dealership to see if your harness needs to be replaced.
No, they check your vin in their system. Checking online or through the Honda app only tells you about actual recalls, not tsb’s.So what you're saying is you believe that they need to check my harness to see if it has been updated. If it has, they won't do anything, if it hasn't, they're supposed to replace it.
I think so, TSBs can only be done while the car still under warranty . Just like the N54 twin turbo/fuel pump replacement . If it ain't broke they won't touch it .So what you're saying is you believe that they need to check my harness to see if it has been updated. no you call honda and have them check your VIN in their system. If there's no open TSB for that VIN, they won't do anything. So what you're saying is you believe that they need to check my harness to see if it has been updated. Not true, some dealerships are choosing not to fix cars that don’t have the harness issue but others are just fixing all that are on the list.I think so, TSBs can only be done while the car still under warranty . 1. call your local honda dealershipThis process is a bit muddy for me.
I needs like a flowchart or sumthin
Well played sir1. call your local honda dealership
2. ask for service department
3. tell them about the open TSB and want to know if your VIN is affected.
4. give service adviser your VIN so he can run the VIN in the system.
5. If there is an open TSB, go to step 6. If not say thank you and hang up.
6. make an appointment with your dealership to have the tsb performed.
if your VIN is affected, they need to perform the TSB whether you have the cel or not.
Lots of people. The CEL/rev match/etc. is common to many emissions-related codes, and thus, could be many things. This particular issue throws (or could eventually throw) a (IIRC) 029 code, and only happens on early 2017 production cars that have a particular version/lot of the engine harness.Has anyone had the CEL come on but their VIN isn't on the TSB?
