When you guys say MSRP is that out the door price? Or just base price + taxes?
No, taxes are different in each state. Out the door also includes dealer fees which also vary by dealer. MSRP is consistent across the board, but is not the same as out the door.

Agree with above. MSRP is the car with manufacturers destination charge. The dealer will typically add a dealer fee - said to cover some of their expenses but mostly profit for a car selling around MSRP. Then there is tax, title and registration. All of those added together would be ‘out the door’ price. Plus there could be other charges such as extended warranties, etc.

It’s often unclear when guys say ‘I paid MSRP‘ if they paid a dealer fee or similar. Dealers almost always charge the dealer fee. I’ve had dealers reduce the price of the car the amount of the dealer fee so that they can show the dealer fee on the paperwork (we negotiate a price, doesn’t really matter what the paperwork says as long as the final price matches what we agreed to).

Went to a dealership in Maryland. Paid MSRP + Type R package ($2,995) was required for a 2020. That's what it is. Wanted a 2020.
Glad to see that you got a 2020 like you wanted but you posted on the wrong thread, a $3K dealer profit package belongs on the naughty list!

I went to a local Honda dealer on Monday in which I told him I wanted a 2020 bb type r. Out of ten states, he only found 2 available :(

It is what it is not...Nothing is “required”.....your buy is the reason these scumbags keep on overcharging people. A little more patience & you could have been 3 grand richer.
