My gas mileage seems to have fallen thru the floor since this lockdown started. All my trips are very short; mostly just to the store to get food. Some days my car never leaves the garage. Also the weather here has been really lousy, still waiting for it to get warm out and stop raining. A tank of gas is lasting me a month but my mileage indicator is saying about 24 mpg. Also my range indicator has gone from indicating 300 miles after a fill up to now indicating maybe 220-240. Has anyone else noticed this?

The range indicator is just an estimate. It fluctuates based on your driving, so you shouldn't be worried about it too much

Mine has dramatically improved. Less traffic, means Iā€™m moving more instead of idling and in stop/go traffic. Iā€™m in Canada but my average tank is about 29-35 US mpg, 50/50 city highway, I can get into the low 40ā€™s with mostly highway driving.

This is all using 91 gas, and with spirited driving with some WOT in the mix ;) I usually have a range of 580-650 km when I start, usually when the light comes on I have around 475-500 km on a tank if Iā€™m not doing strictly city.

My life hasnā€™t changed much since I still work (yay health care) but Iā€™ll definitely take the improvements Iā€™m seeing.

Short trips in most cases will drop your MPG due to stop n go. And as mentioned above, range depends on your recent/current driving habits. If you go on a long highway drive, mileage range will drop very slowly.

Thanks to more freeway driving (i'm working in a different location than I usually do) and the fact that there is less traffic my overall mpg has improved dramatically. Usually with a 40/60 split of freeway/city driving and normal stop and go traffic conditions before and after work days I was averaging around 27mpg most of the time. Now i've been averaging 34-36mpg (i'm still heavy on throttle). So rather than my usual 250-260 miles between fill ups I'm getting well over 300 miles on a tank.

Between the better mpg and less extra travel in general a tank lasts me about a week and half rather than the usual week.

I'm with the OP. I had a long string of 38 - 39 MPG tanks thanks to a 40 mile freeway commute in light traffic. Now, I work from home and only drive to stores near me once or twice a week. Haven't filled up in two months but I am averaging around 24 MPG for this tank.

Mine has remained relatively unchanged, doing mostly freeway driving to work every day. Traffic volume is about 35% less than normal, with the number of idiot drivers being about 110% the usual amount.
