If they decide to soften and whore out the CTR badge here like they do in England, please give us a Mugen R/RR

Something truly hardcore

I might would have considered a coupe had they had one cause I always wanted a coupe Civic Si since the 90s. Never got me one. I am enjoying the Type R though. I would like to see a new Integra Type R. That could fit the 2 door market.
I wish they'd bring back the Integra or Prelude.
You bring up a great point with the Integra Type-R. The Type-R branding started with coupes NSX, Integra, and even the first Civic Type-R were coupes.

Why then would it be whoring it out? Coupes were the true first Type-R. If anything it was whored out to the hatchback!

I was talking more about the GT and mass production aspect that tones it down and makes it less hardcore, less racer, more tourer.
I've tried and tried to find good hard literature on the gt vs the standard version. I can't find anything that goes in depth about the differences.

GT as an idea, a touring car, soft, squishy, lots of options

A luxury version for taking trips across the country.

Watered down and more acceptable for elderly people.

A red R as sales gimmick, rather than an actual track car.

I misunderstood, you changed lanes and I didn't follow. I apologize.

No worries, I probably could've been clearer. I just switch back and forth between so many things all the time, I lose the context sometimes.

There has never been a coupe Civic Type-R. The closest were several 3-door hatchbacks.

I agree with bringing an Integra back, but even those were 3-door hatchbacks (and 1 sedan). Technically, the only true coupe Type-R was the NSX, and that was basically a supercar - so a little different league. I never agreed with them getting rid of the Integra in the first place. I know they were trying to change the image of the Acura brand, but I think killing your best selling model to do it is a mistake.
