Hello all,

Looking to see if someone could tell me exactly what happened here:

Honda Civic 10th gen Could someone decipher/explain this service record entry record.PNG

The job is listed as "Motor R&R" which I'm lead to believe means "remove and replace". Looking at the part numbers, it looks like the cylinder head, gasket, and water pump were replaced. Is this a common failure on 10th gen Si's? I bought the car a few weeks ago with 15k miles on it. Surprised this may have failed so early on.

If you just bought the car, I'm guessing the previous owner beat on it hard. Like really hard.

They may have dropped the motor to make it easier to get the water pump off, but I'm not sure why the did that anyway.

Thanks for the reply. I thought replacing the water pump was odd as well.

What does me just buying the car have to do with it being beat on? Just looking to clarify how that was the conclusion you made.

The previous owner. You don't blow a head gasket for no reason.
