Corrosion on battery. Replace battery or clean it?

If I clean it, obviously I’ll disconnect the battery, what happens to the infotainment system when I reconnect? I’m assuming it will reset and I’ll need some obscure password.

Clean everything from the pole to the terminal. Add WD-40 to remove corrosion. Sadly everything needs to be disconnected for safety and they’ll reset.

Next time, make sure to spray WD-40 now and then to prevent corrosion.

No password is needed for the headunit.

They sell like a specific lubricant for the battery terminals. White lithium grease works too.

I just ended up replacing the battery. I went and got it tested and it dawned on me, its the original battery so even if it was still "healthy" I'd end up cleaning up a battery that is already pushing 4 years old. Just replaced it. They were on sale anyway.

This happens if somebody tight the connector too tight. It cracks the battery terminal, and acid starts to go out. Tight connectors gentle!

I R N Electrician.. Lol. Really tho..
NO. Use dielectric grease instead. Coat all of the metal terminal connectors and bolts/nuts. Nowadays I straight up make my own battery cables/connectors and actually solder them into the ends and when they cool, dielectric grease what's needed. Time consuming? A bit, but they'll be good for like the whole next 10years! Lol
