I am not too concerned. Let them ride my tail. I drive the speed limit. Don't have drugs or issues. Not in a hurry as I love the car. Enjoying my Opera as I drive. Yes, I like Classical Music and Opera. Acquired that taste after my third degree after my CPA/CGMA. I also have many lawyer friends as I teach and provide CPA's with continued professional education. Attorney's also provide most CPA's with CPE. So if needed I have contacts. Not that the law is always fair but I obey it. It is what it is. Most cops don't bother some old guy (56) in a suit anyway. Unfortunately, there are bad cops, but not all is bad. Been in accidents fortunately not my fault and experienced some good cops. I would not want their job. I'll stick to working with numbers any day.

Do the world a huge favour and grow up. Folks like you make me wanna vomit with that nonsense. You can tailgate all you like, for as long as you like. But sorry dude that bullying shit ain’t gonna intimidate me and many others to travel faster just because your an impatient road rager. If I’m doing a reasonable speed and someone don’t like it, they can easily go around, that’s what the other lane or broken lines are for. Haha...your a funny guy:)
It doesn't matter what your idea of reasonable speed is. If you're driving more than 5mph slower than the flow of traffic (regardless of the posted limit), you're the one being unreasonable and causing more danger on the road.

Where I live, average flow of traffic is 5-10 over the limit, 10-15 on highways. I can't count how many jackasses I've encountered who are putting along in the left lane and refuse to move over, despite having numerous opportunities to do so. If I can change lanes and pass them without having to slow down, I won't hesitate to do so, but usually that's not an option. I try to be polite at first and keep off their bumper, and flash my brights a couple times to ask them to move over. After I do that a couple times they start pumping their brakes and getting all pissy. Only then do I move closer. One time, a woman literally started throwing a fit when I pointed to the right to tell her to move over when she was going 55-60 in the left lane of a 65 zone.

And maybe consider that methods of communicating to other drivers are pretty much limited to horn, signals, brights, and following distance. So maybe they're not always "bullying", but are trying to communicate using the limited available options. There are always exceptions of course, like the people flying up behind you at 90 and ride 3 feet from your bumper. But even then, just move over. You're equally an asshole when you obstruct them with your nose up in the air, as if you couldn't be caught dead respectfully getting out of anyone's way.

TLDR: SLOW TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT. If you're not passing someone, stay the hell out of the left lane.
This should be a law everywhere, but some states still haven't gotten a clue.

This is more a general rant than just directed at you, btw.

Lol I wish you were right!

A nearby sheriff is the only elected official in the nation to have knowingly ordered the the widespread illegal confiscation of firearms in the nation.During the evacuation/aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, I was there when they were literally stopping every single car coming to/from New Orleans and conducting unconstitutional searches and confiscating firearms.

Then there’s the NOPD gunning down innocent people who were trying to escape the flood waters.

As you can see, everyone from the NRA to the National Socialist movement says that southern law enforcement is the worst. And sadly, this is just the tip of the iceberg.
You can’t have it both ways. You can’t call both the folks living in Louisiana and their rulers fighting them “southern”. Confiscating firearms is not typical “southern” behavior. NO is a scary crime-ridden urban area and has nothing to do with “rural” as referenced above. Politics also is a little more complicated and you need to first check who has been ruling and governing there.

It somewhat matters though, what the law’s and traffic police’s idea of reasonable speed is.
Things are different depending on traffic. If there’s little traffic and plenty of space, no one should hold on to the left lane, no matter how fast they go. When the road is crowded, though, people who want to drive the speed limit should not be forced to remain in the slow right lane with all the trailers and sleepers, who btw. don’t have any obligation to drive at the speed limit in the right lane.
It’s not like the left lane is reserved for the most reckless speeders, while everyone else must kindly keep ducking into the slow lane and let them pass.
If you are the one who breaks the law, you are the one who needs to slalom between compliant drivers. I routinely drive well over speed limits, but I recognize that in heavy traffic everyone else does not have any obligation to get out of my way at the cost of themselves being forced to slow down.

Haven't had a police officer tail or speed up to me but i seem to always get tailgated when driving my civic and i am going about 10 - 15 over the limit in the right lane. I don't seem to have a problem driving with my lifted truck through, i just don't understand do people just want to die? Lack common sense and saftey awareness?

Well, let's see. I live in the country. Large neighborhood surrounded by horse farms. At 3AM, again 3AM, no one is out and about except DEER. My last car Mini Cooper Coupe (AKA like Mazda Miata) the deer were larger. I see groups of 6 or 7. So I drive slow. Sorry, I don't have a light bar or off road lights.

When I do see a car, I speed up and go speed limit or if he rides my ass I go 5 or 10 over as a curtesy. Hence why I want radar. Country road, Cop is like a mile back maybe not that far, he must be doing 80+ to catch me. Why????? Cops read your plates. Their car reads your plate automatically. I live in Lawrenceville and drive into Atlanta to work. How many trust Atlanta Police? Oh, yeah. there was and article in the paper where the Sheriff in my county bought a Dodge Hellcat for his personal use. Corruption. True. And I had no idea that car was $70K. http://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/i-t...grees-to-use-tax-dollars-for-hellcat-purchase

It took me eight months to get a parking space in Atlanta. Prior to that I rode MARTA. At my hours, I would park in the MARTA deck and sit in my car (then Mini Cooper Coupe S) and wait for the train. I was hassled by Marta Police all the time. I guess they thought guy in sports car with suit looking to buy drugs? So feeding conformation is first hand experience of how I have been treated. BTW, I am a CPA and I work for the railroad (NS). Just so you can draw all kinds of conclusions and stereotypes about me. Reporter interviewed me about it - link below.

Thanks
You can thank obummer for people hating cops.

Way under the speed limit isn't a reasonable speed. If you're doing 40kmh in a 50kmh zone in the city at 6 in the morning when people wanna get to work, you're the asshole, not the people tailgating you. Fact is that many places in many cities don't have double lanes or passing lines, I can think of at least 6 routes in my city where people do this and the entire line of 20 people tailgating eachother can't pass you.

Doing under the speed limit is inconsiderate and rude the same as tailgating is. I never tailgate anyone doing the speed limit, and if it were snowing heavily or freezing rain I wouldn't tailgate. But "Sunday driver" on a commute route where you're making a dozen people hit every red light? Tailgating should be expected and youre the one needing to grow up, put on your big boy pants and do the speed limit

I had a similar situation happen about half a year ago. Merged onto a local highway, only car on the road. Typical most morning commutes. Doing 65 in a 65, in the right lane just after merging. See a pair of headlights flying up behind me at 90+, then they slow up and sit about a car length off my ass for 30 seconds, then he backed off. Looked like Crown Vic headlights. I'm assuming he ran my plates, maybe he was bored or didn't like the way I merged, who knows...

This is in a smaller city in the "we-ticket-you-for-breathing" state of VA.

Do the world a huge favor. Don't go 40 in a 45 zone. Do the speed limit. If I was doing 50 or whatever in a 45 and came up behind someone doing 40 I'd ride their ass too lol. I respect people who do the speed limit and give them space. But if you're doing less than the speed limit (assuming conditions are good) you're likely too scared of driving or not confident in the condition of your vehicle or its ability to keep traction. And if that's a case, get new tires.

Also do yourself a huge favor. Stop feeding confirmation bias by watching crap like that on YouTube. You think people post videos of normal cops doing their jobs on YouTube? You think that because a small number of cops abuse their power that it's representative of the vast majority of officers? Most officers just wanna do their job and go home the same as anyone else.

And if you think he wouldn't rear end you just cause it's a cop, you're sadly mistaken. Anyone can be distracted/dui/aggressive.

Yes you're paranoid lol.

Funny thing is people like the OP are the first ones to call the PO PO when in need, then complain that they aren't there in 30 seconds. :)

Eh, I disagree, at least on 3+ lane roads. Especially when, most of the time, the person slowing down the left lane is moving less than 5mph faster than the next lane over. In that situation, just pop over and let people pass, then move back if you want to keep passing.

Some of y’all crack me up with your internal rationals for driving like an a**.
Just admit you like driving that way and don’t care about the implications to other people.

It goes both ways, my friend. I'll be the first to admit that I'm too impatient when driving and I need to change. But I still stand by what I said. You can't know how much time other people have. When you take your sweet time, you take everyone else's, and that's just as selfish.

My first speeding tickets were driving through Va..no one gives you tickets for speeding in Nj..then I Googled emporia and apparently it's like a well known fact that's all they do is write for speeding lol.
