Just trying to not waste 800 bucks.
Aren’t you about to spend 800 dollars on a grill and oil cooler?

There were two suggestions (either or situation). 1) mount the stock intercooler (free if you kept it) or 2) buy the PWR intercooler (obviously not free). Then, sell your Wagner.

I made the aggressive move to buy them around the same time, it just happened the intercooler came in 2 weeks before the other 2... Im looking at the pwr one now..thanks for the thoughts

does the PRL IC also cause the same issues?

If I'm not mistaken, it does. Most larger intercoolers simply delay the inevitable heat soak. If that delay last the duration of your drive, then it does its job. For track work, however, that's almost never the case. So while a PRL IC might be great for DD work, it probably won't be the best for track work. You'd either want a small intercooler (like stock) or a tube and fin design intercooler that's relatively thin for track work.

Yea primarily because it’s bar and plate. The flow isn’t nearly as good as a tube and fin. Once the bar and plate soaks on track you’re toast.

Ideally you want a tube and fin IC no larger than 87mm thick

I watched the Nurburgring Factory driver video, and I'm curious if they overheated and ignored it, or what mods they had for that car. Supposedly "stock" but I doubt it cooling-wise.

I think my heart would give out way before I finished. That car was on the hairy edge of losing grip and flying into a million pieces the entire race.
Crazy job.

They removed the AC for the Nurburgring run if I’m not mistaken. It might have been relatively cool that day too

I think read somewhere that they added a rollcage and removed the A/C to balance out the added weight (or to prevent overheat... or both).:rolleyes1:

The car that set the ring time also needed one lap (7ish minutes). If the engine was toast after that, it doesn't really matter.

Race on Sunday, sell on Monday.

They added a roll cage and remove the rear seats (to balance out weight). I forget if they removed the AC system.

Ah yes. I mixed up with the 9th gen Type R:
9th gen:
"The lap car, notably, had its A/C, stereo, and front passenger seat removed, to offset the weight of a full roll cage—which Honda says was added specifically for safety reasons and not to add rigidity."
10th gen:
"The hero car had a roll cage installed, but Honda says that was done for safety reasons and it doesn’t stiffen the car. To make up for the weight difference, Honda removed both the infotainment system and the rear seats."
