Does anyone know of a company that makes a decent universal console knee pad? I looked on Amazon and most of them are custom made for particular cars. The few that were universal got crappy ratings. I know it probably sounds like a minor annoyance having my knee rest against the hard plastic, but I wonder if there's a solution.

I absolutely agree with you! I'm 6'1 and sometimes it hurts resting my knee on the side of the console for long drives. I might buy a thin long shaped pillow and stick it in the storage area by the right knee to see if it stays.

I'm thinking something like this may work......

It's a gaming wrist pad, but it's got a gel insert and would probably fit the side of the center console (I'm going to measure it tonight and let you know). Could always adhere it with a 3M double-sided tape.

I was thinking about the exact same thing and I have been looking for solutions. i need something that doesn't look bad. So once you put them in, take pics and please post them. I am interested to see that.

Great idea. I wonder if something like this would fit better.

Plus the non-cloth surface may require less cleaning.

So I got the 3m wrist rest today. I installed it using some 3m double sided tape. Went in easy and fits almost perfect.

Looks good and feels great. I may get another one for the passenger side.

@hondo,

Thanks so much for the 3M gel wrist rest link and photos.

Worked a treat in my 2018 Civic.

I'm 6'2" and the console was causing considerable knee pain.

Your post was a Godsend.

Found via a Google search for "foam tape knee civic".

Glad it helped. It was torture resting my knee on the side while driving. I can't imagine the car without it now. The tape is still holding up too.

Clean console side with alcool first. if you don't it will not stick long time.
Use the stronger tape

ive toyed with the idea of getting a volleyball knee pad and adding a Velcro strap to it so I don’t have to put my foot through it to get it to stay. That way you don’t mar your dashboard with adhesives. But then you’ll look like a real dork if you forget tot take it off when you get out of the car.
