Found this picture from another thread. The connector circled in yellow goes to the amp. Not sure about the one circled in orange. The connector doesn't look like your typical SPDIF.

Correct, it is not a standards based RCA or toslink SPDIF connector.

there is very little information of "after installs" of how the system is after - other than "it sounds better"; did we lose functionality? does everything "work as stock"? does the DSP fix the low bass at low volumes? do we get to keep a better curve at all volumes?
Check out these threads:

the amp only has a single connector - so it's hard to believe the yellow goes to the amp - and I will concede the total connector doesn't look SPDIF, but the part where it actually connects? that sure is.

as informative as those threads are, they are near useless for general non-audiophile hobbists; even thought "I" know whats going on - how many people are going to be able to use REW? are going to have a proper Mic to do that? voltage converters? sad thing is; even some higher end shops won't even be able to do it.
and still really doesn't answer as many questions as it brings up (for me)

So fingers crossed it wi'll be ready Friday (tomorrow). I am being told the subs are too deep and its making the enclosure building very difficult.

Looks really good and clean keeps an oem type R look also Very good job
thanks buddy. I asked for a factory look with custom notes and I think they did a good job of achieving that look. My only requirements were the type of sub used, a ported enclosure, and for it to be suede. The guys at Unique Audio in Lorton Virginia did a great job.

Did you have them just install that decoupling foam, or did you do full sound dampening? That system is beautiful. I've been wanting to do a full system+sound dampening on this car, but work and my house have had other plans for my time and money lol.
