I weigh 245 before lunch that turbo really spools when I sit down. There is some decent space in the Civic, being I have plenty of room standing at 6'. I run 22psi often tho. After running like the wind every week for 13000 miles, it begins to show.
I've been running my own adjusted stage 2 tune, 26psi. So far no issues!

My guess is its not the stiffness as much as it is the feedback. The stock clutch feels muted with little to no feedback. Almost like it is computer controlled (I know its not). Other cars I have had I felt like I could feel the engagement point MUCH better though my foot.
meh technically it is, we have a clutch day valve.

I bought an FX350 several months ago in anticipation of a slipping clutch thanks to my professional tune that was in progress at the time. About a month ago, some time after having the custom tune completed, I was not having any slipping issues, so I sold the clutch.

Shortly afterwards, I was presented with the opportunity to learn about tuning the 1.5T. It did not take long for me to push the OEM clutch beyond it’s limits so I was left in need of the aftermarket clutch I sold only a couple of weeks ago. I emailed MAPerformnce and promptly had another FX350 in my possession, at an awesome price.

I reached out to a friend of mine for installation assistance and we met at his private shop this weekend to complete the task. Equipped with a two post lift, a transmission jack with an adapter for the subframe, and the instructions from Honda we made it through the process without much trouble. A quick job it was not, totaling over 8 hours. However, we took our time and carefully torqued everything to spec. Post installation I had to adjust the clutch master cylinder rod because it was engaging right off the floor, it was functional as-is but it was too close for my taste. That took a little trial and error but wasn’t really a big deal. As expected, it easily handles all the power I can throw at it with 93 octane. I am planning on installating a flex fuel setup pretty soon.

I took a few photos along the way, you can find them below.

Would you mind providing the torque specs for the clutch and flywheel?

I do not remember, sorry. It has been quite some time and I no longer have easy access to Honda's system to check.

I just installed the clutch roughly 200 miles ago with the lightened flywheel. Feels great! Took a while to do in my garage and the speed sensor connector got cought on the top of the tranny and pulled all 3 wires out... That was no fun. The clutch is unsprung as well. It feels good, a bit harsh at times but very solid. I will start ripping on it when I get to 500miles.

I believe Ososik thread from his clutch install has the torque specs, believe 19 on the pressure plate (seems low) and 89 on the flywheel (sounds right)

360glitch - How many miles have you put on the Fx350, any signs of wear? Wondering how much Life they have?
