Hey was wondering who you’d guys recommend who can replace my clutch/flywheel for me and not have ridiculous rates as well as finish on same day. Could be mechanics who do side jobs and what not. I’m in the Bay Area or Northbay

I really like " The Driveway" Auto shop here in San Jose. friendly service, great price, and shop stays clean. Taken my the R to get oil changes and suspension work done, highly recommend checking them out

Thanks for the recommendation but i was quoted almost $1200 in labor alone for a clutch/flywheel install. Should only be like half that.

Trying to get a quote now from blacktrax in Fremont.

@pinhead66 ouch! yeah that's a steep price fersure. I always try to stay local to my shops but I also heard good things/reviews about blacktrax as well. Keep getting quotes and feel free to share what shop you ended up going to mate

Got another quote for $1200 from a place called Auto Clutch and Transmissions in San Jose. Still can’t get a hold of blacktrax. There’s got to be at least one decent shop in the bay that can do it for a reasonable rate right? Looks like I may just be forced to make an appointment down south with eman later this year. His price is very good and I’m sure he can do it in his sleep.

Got a similar price from Motorsport technique in Hayward. They’ve done some good work for me in the past and the guys are pretty nice but the work hasn’t been cheap.

Had a similar experience trying to get in touch with Blacktrax. One guy I met at a show said sometimes you literally need to show up at the shop to schedule an appointment with them. I’m sure they’re awesome if they’re working with Matt Field, but ffs would be nice if they actually got back to people.

I ended up doing just that, headed down to Ventura this weekend to get the clutch, cmc, and a 27won turbo installed! Can’t wait!
