So my cars been in the shop for 3 months. It's been in there longer than I've actually been able to drive it. Honda just keeps saying the quarter panel part is on national backorder. I missed the car so bad but now I just want to get rid of it. Estimate cost of the repairs were 11k. Anyone know what my options are at this point?

The shop said it and I confirmed it with Honda as well as my insurance. They're trying to get the part from Honda of Europe now apparently

Dang, remind me to not damage that panel.

On a serious note, hopefully Honda EU will pull through for you. Hate to hear you've been out of it for so long.

Honestly at this rate, I'm assuming it's going to take another 3 months lol. I would rather just trade it in now

Sell it, get an '18
That's what I'm thinking. Just don't know how much I'm going to get for it. Probably going to take a huge loss

I'm assuming you financed? If you wait and get it fixed, it wont matter when you trade as long as it's not an R-title.
I did finance, but I paid off everything so I wouldn't have to eat the interest

I would have requested the insurance to total the car.

Does the insurance or the dealership cover the cost of car rental? Rental of 3 months can be expensive.

Have you gotten your car back yet? My 2017 Hatchback got a hit-and-run on January 26, and has been in the shop since then. I was also told by the shop that the quarter panel is on national backorder. It’s really bumming me out not having my car. And my insurance rental coverage is about to max out on the 18th. Waiting and not knowing when I’ll get my car back is almost depressing.

Not sure when your pictures were taken... but has it been sitting there w/air bags deployed and a down/busted window? (Maybe old and repairs by now...)

If the car cannot be repaired due to no parts available... your insurance should total it. I'd have a serious talk w/your insurance company who you're still paying to insure a car that cannot be driven... and apparently cannot be fixed.

Rather than wait for the replacement quarter panel that currently still has no ETA, I asked the shop to repair the panel instead. They said they can make it look good as new, so I'm hoping that there will be no difference in appearance once it's all repainted. Should be done by the end of the week. I'm looking forward to finally driving my car again...

Wishing you the best on this. I hate it for you that you were out of your car for so long. Let us know how the repair turns out.
