I just traded my 2014 BMW 320i for a 2019 Civis SI. The Civic is definitely quicker.

Affordable? They (330 ZHP) started at 35K back then which is around 50K dollars today.

For 50K today, you can get much, much better cars then a 330ZHP.
My 2004 ZHP stickered at $44k, I think a base 330i was $36k but the ZHP package by itself was like $4500. I picked it up 1 year old w/ 13k miles for $33k.

Cars definitely have stayed affordable compared to housing/college/stocks etc. But I can't think of a better car for $50k than a ZHP, faster sure. A Camry is probably faster.

Relaltively affordable lol. It was a 4k option on a 30k base price for a regular 330i.

Back in '03, the Is300, TL-S and G35 were all in the 30k range for comparison. The German counterparts always comanded a bit of a premium, but BMW gave you a better mix of luxury + performance.

Can't just consider the inflation up to 2021, you have to consider the competition at the time.
325i was $29k, a 330i was more, and it was really stripped at $35k. They weren't what I would call affordable. Even the IS300 was like $38k, I looked at it but picked the 330 ZHP instead, the IS300 was a bit cramped for me at 6'2".

I guess "affordable" was the wrong choice of words lol. Maybe "value"? Idk.

BMW was always obnoxious with the pricing of their options and packages. But their modern cars don't deliver the thrill that their old ones did, unless you go for the M or m-sport ones.

Yes I think you meant that BMW provided enthusiasts with affordable (used if not new) options cause even the base cars were great fun and good track cars. My ā€˜95 325i was a blast to drive on a track and on the street.

today you kind of have to go with an M2 to get such a vehicle from BMW. And used M cars arenā€™t very affordable.

The 328i is what about 240 hp if itā€™s stock? So if you are tuned and racing him from a roll you should be able to take him.

Try a 30 roll next time and you will be good not sure on the ktuner starter tunes. But tsp and phearable will be a much better race especially if you get the new tunes from them.

I have the tsp stage 1+ and I love it heard good things about the phearable 1.5r which is the more powerful tune on 93 octane. Dyno numbers for that one for a completely stock si is 249hp and 304 torque.

Honestly I heard it feels smoother than the tsp so thatā€™s the main reason i wanted it but does the tsp feel bad to you? Like anything you notice driving with it?

Well I had both tsp 1.5 and phearable 1.5 and I never could decide which one I liked most so I just flashed between the two for months phearable did feel smoother switching from 1st to 2nd. I recently got the tsp 1.5+ It feels a lot smoother from the first version but I donā€™t have the phearable 1.5r to compare it with yet I can say it feels better than both tsp 1.5 and phearable 1.5 though.

228 hp if it's a 2012 328xi - he should be able to beat him except maybe not from a standstill thanks to AWD. It's heavy. my 330i ZHP was 235 hp and lighter but wasn't that fast. My buddy in a 2000s Accord V6 auto was faster on the highway. That was embarrassing, lol.

I got a cvt so Iā€™m stuck using the regular tsp and phearable tunes

E90's are a straight 6, were never turbo (not including the 335), about 230HP and AWD. The turbo 4's started with F30 and were, dyno'd around 225HP, IMHO no comparison to the E90 N52 NA engine, especially (especially...) on takeoff. It wouldn't surprise me that even a well tuned CivicX, even if HP could be tweaked enuf, would ever beat a 328 Xdrive AWD. Against the 320 "baby b'mer," probably, but not the 328.
