There are probably around 10 type R in China, arrived through grey market dealers with crazy mark ups, if you want one the final price is around 100k $

I did it! Yea Einstein!
Now. Who are the performance people for Si parts? Like cold air systems, are they even worthwhile? K & N air filters, stock or otherwise. Strut tower braces . . . really needed? I don't plan on road-racing. A Borla system? etc. etc. etc. Thank you very much for any and all replies.

That's my point, the only ones sitting are ridiculous. If not for mark ups, if sold at MSRP. I could safely say every type r would sell before delivery. I would say it would have a 100% sold rate with zero inventory available. Side note if a car has been sitting since launch unsold because of mark up then that should give them a clue. My guess is they want to keep it there to draw people in and then when they wont pay 10k mark up they point them at the higher profit regular civics.
I don't remember the #'s but when the Hellcats were first coming out years ago the dealers were damn near having a lottery to see who would come up with the highest mark-up. And they would NOT budge! I don't know if they've calmed down any by now, but Vette's were also held for ransom around here. As previously mentioned, if the word "discount" happened to fall out of your mouth, you were almost physically escorted out the door by 2 bruisers.

Jimoney dude, how's your garage? :) Off topic but what's more fun the Type R or Panamera?
Haha, Panamera is the car I take when I go out with the wife. It's the size of a Mercedes S class but handles much much much much better and tighter. LOVE IT

Picked up mine in Blue back just after Thanksgiving. So far the only blue 1 I have seen in the DFW area. The very few I have seen are either black or white and I have seen 1 red.

I picked up from what I know the first Sonic Grey Pearl in our area #21747 on Dec 23rd. I made the deal I wanted and was in and out with in a hour or so. Northern VA Area. I am so happy I bought this car over an STI.

I expect it to die down a bit once the new Supra and STI comes out. Right now, the Type R is the hottest new thing out that's somewhat obtainable depending on what dealership you go to. I expect people to jump ship once the newest hot performance car comes out.
I want a type R with an auto tranny, how long do I have to wait for that configuration in the Honda type "R" ?
Love sticks, owned & drove them for 30 years but now very happy with an auto, don't need or want a clutch anymore but do love my little Civic hatchback just want 300 horses under the hood.

Most likely neveR. If auto is a must go look at a Golf R.

I have an auto in a car that I like very much but want more punch than 180 HP in my Civic. Plenty of Honda's competitors offer that combo (that is an auto tranny with sustantially more horses which approximate or even exceed 250 HP), so what's keeping Honda from matching the competition ?
