Hey guys,

the vehicle has just been released and we are getting a large influx of CTR owners. We have already added wheels and lug nuts to our FK8 page. So here is what we got so far:

http://www.kamispeed.com/Honda-Civic-Type-R-Parts-s/23228.htm

Key Wheel Information for new Users:

18's will fit but you have to make sure it's from a performance wheel line that optimizes barrel size for maximum brake clearance. Volk Racing, Advan Racing, SSR, Enkei Racing Revolution, WedsSport, and BBS are among the first few that we have confirmed.

Lug nuts are 14x1.5 not the standard Honda 12x1.5 pitch thread. Also cheaper wheels may not be drilled M14, so also check that before buying from any random site.

Width and offset: OEM is 20x8.5 +60 offset, generally speaking flush is typically anywhere from 15-25mm more poke (flush is objective, so for our standard flush is OE camber the edge of the wheel lines up to the fender). Depending on tire specifications and compound rubbing will occur well before the wheel is flush, so depending on what kind of tire you plan on running you will need to adjust accordingly.
  • No roll fitment is generally considered conservative but will save you the headache of hearing rubbing and damaging any liner. For the CTR this is about 10-15mm out more so roughly 8.5 +45 / 9.0 +51 / 9.5 +58. Here you can run basically any tire you want, and I recommend this for guys who want an easy fitment with no issues or track guys who want to maximize tire patch.
  • Aggressive fitment is generally +20~+25 further out than OE. Here is where the wheel is considered flush, but in order to get this to work you generally have to stretch tire at the least and typically pull/roll fender, adjust camber setting, and stiffen up suspension so you don't rub on hard dips. This is generally the most desirable look but what most won't tell you is that it requires much more work than some really care to put in. Specs here 8.5 +35 / 9.0 +40 / 9.5 +45
  • Poke. There really are no rules on this one, you will have to majorly stretch tire to ensure the tire fits in the wheel well, adjust a lot of camber, get really stiff suspension if the fender sits on the fender, or a combination of the 3. This is the most popular look these days because everyone wants concave lol. For cars the the CTR fitment is pretty conservative (not as bad as the S2000) so its in that space where concavity only comes with aggressive sizes. Common sizes here will be 9.0 +25 / 9.5 +22 / 10.0 +30
Style aside and given the vehicles racing breed here are my personal Wheel and Tire recommendations:

18x9 +50 w/ 275/35 - maintains same overall diameter adds a lot of tire patch
18x9.5 +60 w/ 275/35 - maintains scrub diameter more tire and personally the perfect track setup

19x9 +50 w/ 275/30 - adds a lot of tire patch
19x9.5 +60 w/ 285/30 - meat city
Last thing, remember the CTR is 5x120!!! Look for wheels with BMW fitment, generally their "weak" sizing as the BMWs have deeper wheel wells for more aggressive specs.
