I'm going to let you in on a little secret...

The Type R will throw codes and lights everywhere once the vehicle is lowered past 2".
How do I know this? MFR's have known this 1 year ago when they were invited to see the Type R, and did their measurements and testing.

This means that the CAN bus system is going to be hard to work around.
It's deeply ingrained to the ECU. If you want to lower it with a coilover, MFR's will have to supply some kind of Tune. Crazy right?

Slight drops are the only option as of now.

lets see what manufactures come up with! Fortune Auto will be testing their kit soon so we'll see what feed-back we get!

Thanks for this! If we can maintain this and be consistent in the long run it'll be awesome!

How is this any different than other cars with adjustable damping? They make cancel kits for them all.
KW makes one for the civic FK2 Type R so why wouldnt they for the FK8?

I believe the cancel kit still needs to be tested with the fk8 chasssis. if it works then great.

I was wondering the same thing... Although i feel like the car not starting is a little excessive
I'm only sharing what I know.

Fortune Auto coilovers have been delayed until 2018, but I got news that HKS is working on their Hipermax IV GT and SP designs.

Also got some insight on on the front dampers for the Type R compared to the Si, Hatchback, and Base Civics. So the Type R has a front damper knuckle diameter insert of 55.4 mm vs the SI's 53.8mm vs the Hatchback's 52mm vs the Base Sedan/Coupe of 50.5mm. Obviously its not conclusive data but it shows the significant increase is damper beefiness up front.
