CE28SL 18x9.5 +42, Falken FK510 265/35/18 on stock suspension
I definitely felt a difference switching from 20’s to 18’s when it came to handling.Hello, New to the forum after having perused *most* of this thread.
Because I am old and boring and just mostly tool around town, I am looking to drop to 18s and put on some Conti DWS06+ A/S's on for my full-time setup. I know OEM is 8.5 and most of the setups portrayed here are 8.5 and above, though there were a handful of 18x8. I have been perusing Tire Rack and was mostly looking at the 18x8s due to the broader range of choices with offsets at +40 and higher. I was all set to make a decision when a post about 17 pages ago said 8" width was a bad idea. Now I also got the impression that person drove their CTR hard and was purposefully putting it through the motions to truly test the limits, and so noticed issues with cornering while running on 18x8s. As someone who won't be doing that type of hard driving, is that really an issue I should legitimately be concerned about? Thanks in advance for any type of insight.
I am speculating the main sacrifice of going with a more narrow wheel (and tire) than stock is grip. But you’re also giving up grip going from a summer tire to as.Hello, New to the forum after having perused *most* of this thread.

I am curious how the 3D printed center caps have held up over time. Any issues?I finally took pictures of my winter wheels and tires. They are 19x8 Enkei Tuning Raijin and 245/35ZR-19 Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06. These are the same wheels rey2300 has and posted on here. His post helped me make my decision on wheels. So a big thank you to him. I’d also like to thank Thawk as he 3 D printed rings to fit on the Honda center caps in order to fit in the Enkei wheels. The Honda center caps are slightly smaller and needed these rings to fit. The wheels and tires were ordered from Tire Rack. The Honda center caps are OEM and ordered from an eBay seller. Disregard my license plates as I know my CTR is not AWD. These plates were on my Honda Pilot. TYP3 R plates have been ordered and are on the way. TYPE R was already taken.
Actually the costlier wheels at those widths have the higher offsets, now that I take another look. I don't think I can go 600, 700, 900 per wheel though. Was kind of hoping to cap at about $500-$550 per, with at least +40 offset. The 18x8.5s that are $500 or less are mostly +38 offset or lower. I guess I'll have to open the wallet a little more. What about those offset options did you like that you wouldnt be able to get with an 8.5 or 9.5 inch wheel?
They would. I was trying to keep it all on Tirerack for simplicity, but that's not an absolute necessity.Titans7s are a hair over $500 a wheel and can be found in +45, wouldnt that work for you?
