I finally got my new rims and tires installed.

-OEM suspension
-Volk CE28 Club Racer II in 18x9.5 +38 5x120
-Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in 265/40/18

The only thing I had to do to avoid rubbing in the front was bend the metal fender tabs up that attach the fender liner. Zero rubbing in the front once that was done and the rears have not been as issue. I also had the car aligned after the install, got -1.6 camber in the front. The 40 series tires not only ride like a dream, but fill the gap nicely on OEM height and I was still able to get the benefits of a 265 wide tire. The car feels insanely planted now, could not be happier!

Iā€™m trying to figure out what I want to do for wheels. Am in NY and NJ and the roads are horrendous. Thereā€™s just no way that the stock wheels are gonna make it for daily driving. Iā€™m looking for 18s to put 245/40s on. Unfortunately Iā€™m limited to Tire Rack because I have an account credit that I want to use. Any suggestions around the $300 per wheel mark. Was looking at the RPF-1s, the BBS SX, and BBS SR. Would a 32 mm offset be too little? Any suggestions welcome. Priority is on value, strength, and then performance in that order.

Not sure if you like Worx wheels?
TSW has some that are close to their Classic nine spoke called Interlagos, rotary forged. I think TR will price match CAR ID and if so, check out the metal and gunmetal matte they have. Although I got them from CarID (19x9.5 5x120 ET41 ) for $161 ea (were $484) my Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate 255/35 were $200 ea delivered at Tire Rack. Quantities Ltd more each day. Decent W&T under $1,500, bit more w/locks, lugs. Worth considering if you think R & V brands are sick but overpriced.

I was told that they do not offer center caps for these specific rims since they are marketed for track use. If that is true, not a problem for me. I love how they look as is.

The common specs for the type R is 18x9.5 +45, +40, +38, +35 and tires are 265/35 or 255/40. The Enkei TS-V is a great wheel for the price made in type R specs.

I've been looking for the center caps and contacted a couple vendors on email but no help. I see a few people rocking caps on these.

TheeSnakeJake,
Sharp!
Have you considered lowering slightly, say Eibach Pro springs that lower F&R .8ā€-1ā€?

i have same size setup as you but ET41 w/TSWs GY Exhilarate A/S in 255/35/19, no contact anywhere and had full load Monday I tossed around trying to demo and ck suspension too. This makes for a magnificent tuck/flush w/o gap... muwaah!

Thanks! I'm planning to keep the suspension stock. That may change...

Used to run Motegi MR133 on a daily Type R in SE Michigan (roads from hell) and this summer decided to find some new affordable wheels.

These SuperSpeed FR05RR are fantastic! Very light for their price. Looks amazing. Canadian based company. Fit fantastic with PS4S 265/35/18

highly recommend these!
