Back in my racing days 20 yrs ago (Ford Probe GT w/ an 80 shot), I bought some Nitto drag radials and I still barely got below 2.2 60's. The wheel hop was killer. I think before the nitto's I was in the 2.3-2.4 range. Yuck.

Your times and traps don't match up. You should, and I predict you WILL hit mid 13's at those speeds. Keep practicing! :) It took me many, many trips before I hit 13.7. Not sure how I didn't blow that car up. Ahhhh....walking down memory lane.

I used to love those Ford Probes back in the day. I know there was a purple one on nitrous I used to follow and emulate on my 1996 2.2ltr Subaru Outback Sport (Auto/AWD). That was in the late 90's, early 2000's, just before the WRXs came out. Yes, those were some fun times.

The shape of the Ford Probe (And the Mazda Version) is still cool. And I loved the sound of their exhaust.

UPDATE: So I returned to the track with all the helpful info I received from my last post here. First run, I dropped to 13.88. Next run I regressed to a 13.95. Third run was the start of bracket racing so I dialed in at 13.7. Run felt great! I broke out and lost, but doesn’t matter to me because I reached my goal of hitting the 13.5’s stock! You guys rock for all the help. Was a 13.58 @ 109.8. I’m car 697 fyi.

Congrats on your run! You had an excellent 60ft time on street tires and your trap speed is fantastic. Way to go!

Because I put 13.7 down for bracket racing. Fastest I had hit prior was a 13.8. So even though I beat him, he hit his estimated time closer without going faster, while I broke out and lost because I went faster then the time I estimated.

Interesting - you BOTH broke out. Nice light! Oh, and this was Back to the Future night.

Good eye... He dialed in at 16.3 and ran a 16.26 so he was much closer at .04 off. While I was .12 off. He was an automatic FX35 so I would imagine that he’s pretty accurate most runs.

Im about to go to the drag racing track tommorrow...any conclusion of advice you guys talked about on here? Haha
I am 93 octane tuned with Hondata. With Hankook 255/30/20 Tires
I was thinking of reflashing with the Torque dampened at 1st and 2nd gear, with launch control at 2500.

Thanks!

If you’re on a stock mount and you release the clutch too quick, get ready for some violent shaking. I would try slipping the clutch without letting the tires break loose. The track is really sticky (at least mine) so once you get going you should be able to maintain traction. You can also try lowering the tire pressure.

So the goal of this "bracket racing" is to guess what you're going to run?? Reminds me of that radar speed pitch game that used to be popular at amusement parks. Throw 2 pitches and then guess what you'll throw on the third.

Kinda strange to me. I always went to the track to improve my times with each run, not to consistently run the same time over and over.

Also, don’t focus on reaction time. The timer doesn’t start until you move, even if the lights is green
