Hi to everyone!
I'm waiting for my Civic X 1.5 sport plus, in Italy (so the EU version)
I have some question about audio because I have read very different review. Some say is good, some say is terrible!
I have read the brochure and my car use an 11 speaker system, so:

1- What brand of speaker is Honda using in my car? I have read about Pioneer, Focal or Foster.
2- In the car using 11 speaker like mine, there's a Sub? where it is located?
3- is this audio system at least usable (of course starting with a a decent source)?
many thanks to anyone!

The premium system uses amplifier made by pioneer. No idea about speakers though.

i've also a civic eu/germany (sport plus)

1) iam not totally sure, but afaik those speakers are from Foster.
2) theres no SUB for the eu hatchbacks. the US versions have one in the trunk (right side wall)
3) for me it sounds decent out-of-box. but coming from a car with after-market subwoofer, it lacked bass for me.
the headunit has a weird EQ curve (bass-drop-off) and the EQ itself mostly boosts the frequencies around ~80-150hz. so you might be missing "deep" bass.

the speakers can clearly do more deep bass. so what i did was:
- install viper4android, that gives you a 10-band eq (31hz, 60hz, 125hz bands etc.) / you need to install hondahack for that, which is quite easy these days.
- install an after-market subwoofer: tap into the front system speaker signal and use that for your sub. the rear speaker signal is heavily reduced in bass (dont use that).

either solutions help already alot imo.
iam using both solutions at the same time now and more than satisfied.

So the "software only" solution is not enough.... lol
can you please provide more info about the sub stuff? where you put that sub? Where exactly you take the wire?
were you placed that sub?
I have another question, where exactly are those 11 speaker located in the car?

many many tks

the software solution felt already fine, but iam a basshead, so i needed more lol.
viper4android installation is described here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-mode-2017-t3621582/post79363170#post79363170

regarding the sub install, a friend of mine did the install, while i was searching for more infos about the sound system (amp placement).
the factory amp is behind the kickpanel on the passenger foot side (pictures below). from there you need to tap the signal from your front speakers. this signal is needed for the amp/sub.
i put the sub simply in the trunk (speaker box) and the amp is under the trunk floor. the wires basically go behind the side panels -> from the back to the front of the car.
the power for the amp is coming from the car's battery.
as shown here (amp install):

@MrWaYne

Since you also have a Euro Sport Plus, how is your experience with Honda Hack? I'm a bit afraid that it will mess up the system. I've read on XDA some people had problems with the directions showing from the Garmin satnav between the dials.

i only tested gmaps via android auto so far and it showed me all the directions on the cockpit. i only heard about a bug, that the directions were missing, but that was in january due to a buggy gmaps update.

by garmin satnav you mean the integrated garmin software? i didnt test that one yet. (usually using gmaps only here)

apart from that, hondahack installs itself via browser. which takes 6-7 minutes. everything is still working just like before.
i was afraid aswell at first... but god, iam glad i did it. viper4android is just awesome for the honda sound system.

Yep, I meant the integrated garmin software indeed. I only use this one.

I saw a couple of tutorials on youtube. It's very straight forward but still....
V4A seems something very useful. I'm missing a lot of mid range sound.

will do either end of this week or next week. iam still fine-tuning the frequencies, since i just got the subwoofer installed a few days ago.

did some VERY quick eq'ing and this was the result for now (afaik):
+6db @31hz (due to the bass-cut-off from the Headunit, especially under 38hz)
+3.5db @60hz
+1.5db @125hz
also some boosting in the 200-300hz range, dont remember right now how much.

- clarity setting: +3.5db with natural preset
- bass boost setting: i did touch that one very briefly. you can set a certain frequency and boost that one. usually (on android phones) you run into the volume limiter with it. that also happened with 2-3 songs for me on the honda system. need to do some further testing here.

- honda eq: default settings

maybe somebody else with viper can also post his settings. this would help myself aswell. :D

Thx for testing!
I'm still not too keen on trying it. I've seen too much people with problems on the XDA forum.

Ok, I hacked the HU and installed Viper.
A few question
1-The tab I need to modify is the "headset one" right? even for a connected smartphone via BT?
2-How I can be sure that setting are applied at every start? I have to manually keep the app open?
3- I tryed messing stuff around but (Ive only tested with DAB source) things seem to stay the same.
How I can be sure that Viper is doing his work?
tks
