Civic Sport Hatchback TPMS question

Just wanted to verify that there's no actual TPMS sensor in the wheels on my car? The TPMS is based off the abs/wheel speed sensors?
I'm wanting to order rims and tires and need to know if I can use regular valve stems. It looks like the oem wheels have regular stems.

Correct, our Civics do not have an actual TPMS sensor.
It is all based on wheel speed.

Yes, normal valve stems will work.

Vic is spot on, but one thing I will add is that I have noticed is that you do have to do the TPMS reset after swapping wheels/tires. Since it uses the wheel speed sensors, if your new tires are a different outside diameter (like if you do a 245/40-18 vs the OEM 235/40-18) - the wheel speed sensor will think there is a TPMS problem.

The system can be a bit "buggy" at times as well. I have had to sometimes do 3-4 re-sets before it "takes".

For now I'm just swapping the oem tires onto the new rims once they get delivered. Good info tho thanks!
