Video with the noise in question:
My friend was revving the engine, i was recording.
I really hope you guys can help me figure out how to address this.
On any acceleration my car started to have this noise. It’s extremely noticeable in the video. It’s seems like high pressure pump normal noise, but really loud.
It’s so loud that while driving it’s louder than the rest of the engine (even with music on).
The car was in a crash. The body shop replaced the turbo (and did some body work on the front). No repairs were done on the rest of the engine.
Both body shop and a honda dealership claim that ‘this is normal injectors/high pressure pump noise’. I test drove a honda with the same engine on their lot and couldn’t hear anything similar.
While engine is cold, this noise is substantially quieter, but after approx. 10 min drive is becomes like in the video.
Besides this noise the car runs great. No problems whatsoever.
The noise is driving me crazy though
I’d hugely appreciate if anybody had any ideas on how to fix it (and how to deal with mechanics so they would stop brushing me off).
