I was installing aftermarket sidemarkers and didn't realize that the brackets were painted metal. The sidemarker was giving me trouble with removal, and ultimately I chipped the paint a bit. It's covered by the side marker itself, and the body paint is fine.
I'm new to cars and maybe just paranoid, but I'm concerned about rust since I'm planning on keeping this car for a very long time. So my question is, could the rust spread from that scratch and what can I do to prevent the brackets from rusting if thats the case?
