I am looking trading my Si for an R. It would be my DD. Are there any cheaper tire options for the stock wheels?

I'd rather not spend 1200-1400 on a set of tires every 8-10 months.

Damn, that's way more options that I expected.

I spent $700 for as et of Continental DWS from Discount Tire Direct mounted - monitor sales and rebates and you should never spend $1200 on a set of tires.

Cheaping out on tires for a car like this is just a waste.

I don't want to run crappy tires but I couldn't afford to keep buying what comes on it stock. I've got two friends who have and R and neither got 10K out of the stock set.

I drive 14-15K a year so I'd be buying close to two sets a year at that pace.

Keep in mind those tires linked above are not the OEM size. The 245/35/20 are a full 1" taller than stock. Not ideal and I wouldn't do it.

Dang, I didn't even notice that. @Doublestack00 if you do want stock size you can use this link here. As others stated above, you do get a bigger selection for 18 and 19" rims, but that comes with the added initial cost of the rims.

I really like the look of the stock wheels so I'd just have to dig into what the options are in the stock size. Maybe a hair wider with some spacers.

245/35/20 still falls within a small enough speed error margin i personally feel is acceptable and provides slightly more buffer for imperfect roads. Its more accurate than those running 255/35/20.

Also, YMMV on your stock tires. I DD mine with the occasional canyon drive (still no where near the limits) and an auto X event and still managed to get around 21k miles out of my stock set.

My second set of tires is actually near new take offs from other CTR owners at a discounted price. I think I spent about $700 including installation. Looking to get at least another 20k miles out of them. If I had to source new i'd probably go with falkens.

I run this on my all season setup without any issues. The speedo is off by like 2 mph and that's it.

This is all wrong. The tire height of 255/30/20 = 26.0" and the tire height for 245/35/20 = 26.8". The speedo error is much worse with the taller tire. Also, no way you can safely get 20k miles out of the stock tires. I have only 7k miles on mine and the are already slick as hell. The performance degrades VERY quickly.

You misread my 255 tire comparison size. Many people on this forum run 255/35 commonly because that's where many tires go down in price. I would not run that profile personally and it will throw off the speedo more than a 245/35 would.

Also I did get 21k miles out of mine (i'm at 26k miles now with my second set). All depends on how and where you drive. I had about 3/32 left on the stock tires when i had them swapped, and didnt notice any performance degradation with the way i drive.

My mistake, I did misread that. I don't know of anyone running that size, that is 1.2" taller than OEM.

I feel that if you have 26k miles on the SportContact6, you need to change ASAP. That is not safe.
