Ceramic coating

So there are probably like 50 types of ceramic coating and every one and their mother is coming out with products just putting the word ceramic on it. Amazon probably has like over 50 products ranging from like $20 something to $100 something.

Anyone has any one product specific they have actually used and found to be a good product?

Are you just looking for a spray bottle type that lasts a couple months? Or a permanent, comes in a damn medicine bottle with a pipette, lasts 3-5 years deal?

I have used the Turtle Wax Spray on Ceramic Hybrid, and have been quite pleased. I think it's lasted right around a year. Easy to apply. Easy to wipe off the excess.

Ive shot content for a local detailer for the last few years and hes always been open about all the different products he uses.

I personally have not ceramic coated a car, just because I dont have the patience for all the prep work required before putting it on, which can sometimes be a pain in the ass itself.

That being said, the detailer I work with said that Feyn Lab Ceramic Lite is a great and easy ceramic to apply for people looking at an 18 month coating and its pretty inexpensive and you dont need to be an authorized detailer to purchase it. I think as with anything, the prep work is probably the most important part to getting ceramic application correct.

For now, I think Ill just stick to waxes tho.. haha

Medicine bottle type. I have used the meguairs ones, and am happy with them on the body paint. But I am starting to get more carbon parts and would like the heavy duty one for those parts.

Which you should use should be based on your level of experience. In the hands of someone who doesn't know better something like ceramic pro, cquartz, gtechniq etc.... could leave a streaky and hazy finish. If you're a beginner, I would recommend 303's new graphene coating, it should last a year and reapplication is quite easy. It can be applied in the cool shade, or even in the sun. It will leave a nice shiny finish and bead water really well. Use P&S beadmaker as a drying aid after your washes and you will have a really nice pro level finish.

I bought this one a couple weeks ago and MAN is it nice, easy to apply and buff to a shine...i washed the car 3 times with soap and all since i did the first coat and it still bead like crazy:

I use THIS to apply, very easy with that and no waste...you just spray the stuff on the foam and slowly massage it all around 1 body panel at a time and you buff with a microfiber cloth...what i also like about it is it doesn't get your MF cloth full of stuff like so many others do...i did the whole car and the bottle is still pretty much full..i recon with the foam pad i can probably do the car entirely 6 to 8 times at least...avoid doing in the sun, i like to do it at night personally.

I use spray on ceramic. Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray as well, the one you spray on while the car is still wet. Going to try their new Graphene Ceramic next since I've had great results.

I have Proje ceramic coating on all my cars and their stuff stays on paint even after 6+ months, though it is not super expensive and one bottle is more than enough for at least 10 cars, I applied two layers on 2020 Odyssey, 2016 Civic, 2021 CR-V, 2014 Porsche Cayenne, 2018 Porsche Panamera and still have for at least couple cars two layers each. My cars parked outside and washed once every 2 weeks with buckets and all, and yet, every time water beading is amazing, shine is great and it can be applied on plastic, mirrors, glass, wheels, lights... worth reapplying once in a while to create more layers, but not necessary. https://projeproducts.com/
Always remember, preparation is the key, wash it, apply iron removal, clay bar, do quick 1 step polish if necessary, apply wax and grease removal and then apply ceramic coating, that way you have better bonding, protection and shine. If you want quick and easy application, I definitely recommend the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax, bought a bottle today and took my Civic for a quick wash and rinse, applied exactly how instructions said to (washed and rinsed car, sprayed as few sprays as possible across each panel, wiped in with a towel, then sprayed another round of wax and sprayed off at an angle with water). Didn't have to dry the car coming home on a cloudy/rainy day and after a 15 minute drive the car was almost completely dry. Leaves a mirror-like reflection, and smells great too.
