We found in testing that the difference in power gains between catted and cat-less are quite minimal in these cars. If looking for a little more noise control we suggest the catted one as it helps muffle the exhaust a bit.

Living in Jersey we have since gotten rid of safety inspection but have a strict emissions test. My car has a 5 yr inspection from the dealer but arter that its once every 2 years from the NJDMV. I am contemplating getting a downpipe myself but most likely will go with a cat to avlid the hassle of having to swap it in and out to pass emissions.

Thats exactly my view here in NY. I would love a downpipe for my car but we have to get a visual inspection 1 time per year. This means that I would have to swap it out once per year just to pass. Not worth it for me. I will stick with catted.
My sentiments exactly!

from these sound clips it seems like the only thing you slightly hear more is the turbo. My car is loud enough, i actually don't want it to be any louder.

I'm more interested in performance gains, i want more powerrrrrr lol

That was my goal with my setup, more power with at least noise as possible. I may have lost a few HP with a catted down pipe, but I'd rather loose 5HP and pass emissions with no drone in the car.

Does anyone here have experience with a catback then getting a catted/ cattless downpipe? I have greddy exhaust and would like a downpipe, but I dont really want the car much louder..
