Hey guys, so I recently got my White Orcid Civic Sedan and I was looking to get a Carbon Fiber Hood and I found several options. The hood with the two vents is the TS-Style Hood, the one with one vent is the VS-Style Hood, and the last is a Type R Replica. The VS and TS hoods are from Seibon and the Type R is from China, I am planning on getting the Seibon body kit to might as well make a type R conversion, what are your thoughts?

Seibon will be releasing the Type R style hood soon. If you are already purchasing the Seibon kit might be worth going Seibon everything.
Safer dealing with a company headquartered here in the United States as well.
They are also releasing another style called the MG style very soon.

Do you know what the price will be?

Please pot a picture in this thread whenever you get around to ordering one and installing it.
I have the same color civic and also want to get a carbon fiber hood (probably the $700 Seibon stock one for me personally)
I just want to see someone else do one before I order one up myself

So I seen the hood posted at the very top on eBay for $1500 which is ridiculous. Does anyone know who sells it for a reasonable price?

I personally think this one is way better. That one I feel that the vents are in the wrong area of the hood... just my two cents

You can't beat Seibon. I used to make carbon fiber parts for work years ago, so I'm more familiar than most with composites. Seibon's quality is superb for their price. I had a VIS hood on my old Talon and it was not very impressive. There was distortions in the weave and I had minor delamentation problems with it.

I have a Seibon on my WRX and it is great. There isn't a single flaw in the weave and it's very solid.

I agree with you. That right there may be the thing that a lot of people don't understand. They see the pricing for Seibon parts compared to the stuff from China/Thailand etc and see WTF?! That's way too much. But they don't understand the difference in the quality and manufacturing. Also having the support/warranty from the manufacturer themselves within the United States/North America. If they want to take that gamble ordering from overseas it's their choice of course. Dealing with shipping damage and warranty issues can be scary i'm sure.
I get that saving money is more important to people though. So long as it's worth it in the end.
