Car safety in the Delray Beach, FL area ?

Thinking of driving or flying down (haven't decided yet) to the Delray Beach, FL area from New York sometime this summer. If I do drive down, I'll be parking the car at a Marriott and keeping close tabs whenever I can. From what I've seen, most or all of these hotels either have gated parking areas or internal parking structures.

Of course car safety can't be guaranteed anywhere, but is car theft/vandalism an unacceptable level of concern in this area?

I just recently returned to Long Island from a week spent in southern Florida and didn't see a single CTR while I was down there. As a matter of fact, I didn't see a CTR anywhere while driving along the entire I-95 in both directions. Lol where are you guys all hiding?
