Downhill from the Grapevine on my way from SoCal meet. LOL.

Final mpg when I got home was 49. Going 75-80 mph. Eco off. Probably could've hit at least 50 but the last 30 min stretch I was going 85 mph and couldn't wait to get home already. If you have some downhill driving and then flat roads for a couple of hours. Keep her speed steady and you can definitely break the 50 mpg wall.
I'm jealous - I olny got 109 mpg and you exceeded that.

I was able to get 50mpg routinely on my 180 mile commute over the summer. Got a bit lower after I had the car tuned. I'd imagine with hypermileing that number could be much higher.

Got an 80 mile daily commute averaging 60-70MPH and after a year and almost 30k miles, finally hit 40MPG average.

I have hit 60+ instant MPG on days with no wind and no traffic.

Also, has anyone every gotten over 500 miles on their range? The most I got was 498 but even with increased average mpg, it still won't go over 500.

My range is at 525 miles. That's with an average MPG of about 45. I'm hoping to get it higher once the temps get better here in Wisconsin. Again, my commute is 45miles each way only with speeds of 55mph on gently rolling hills. No freeways and lots of speed traps.

Did you try "DWL" (driving with load), ... did you have any luck with it? Did you check your tire pressures?

Haven't yet but plan to. DWL is worth attempting although I love to put the cruise on, turn on the satellite radio and sort of zone out. At 3AM no one else it out and about. (Just the deer!)

That's my goal. Got my 17 EXT with MT on New Year's Eve. I drive about 30K miles per year and have a 45 mile commute to work one way. Almost NO city driving. No freeway either on my routes. So it's just rural 55mph roads in gently rolling Wisconsin farm country. I also stick to the speed limits as the police around here set up traps all the time.

My last tank of gas. 400 miles on it and the computer is stating 49.5 MPG. Actual calculation was 49.3 MPG. This with temps around 40-50. So this summer I am hoping for 50.
Short update. I am indeed now averaging 50MPG+ (calculated). The last 3 fillups (all over 400miles on the tank) have been over 50 with the best 51MPG so far. Of note too is that the meter numbers and the calculated numbers have all been within 0.5mpg of each other. Admittedly, I have a pretty easy commute of 45 miles one way with no city or freeway driving. Also the temperatures have made a huge difference. Was getting around 45 MPG in the winter and now up to 50+ with temps in the 50s.
