aren't you in a Si? not a type R...doubt oem Si pads are that great...I've owned an Si before.
Glad you pointed that out, trying to compare the two makes zero sense. "My Honda Fit got 49k miles on OEM Honda pads why can't your CTR?"

Tire Rack Centric Premium Rotors.
Carbotech XP8 (Front/Rears)

Thanks Honda for installing that stupid rotor screw that is entirely worthless and won’t come out without being drilled... sigh.

Haven’t had the opportunity to really the strength of the pads because I’m religious about my bedding of carbotechs. It’s about 32F out today and I’m on winter tires still so I did 5x 50-5/10mph hard braking, then 5x 70-30mph hard braking (nothing grabbing ABS etc). Pulled over immediately after and just sat for about 30 mins. Touched the rotors and they were nearly ambient temp brought it back home with only one touch of the brakes. Letting them sit over night and excited to see how they feel on the morning commute :)

Looks nice, let us know the results. Do you know who tire rack sources their rotors from?

They are Centric Rotors. Largest aftermarket brake manufacturer in NA. I’ve used them on an assortment of my own cars and family vehicles. Track ones and street ones.

centric makes very nice rotors. i use them on everything.

as for the rotor screw you need a impact driver to remove them do not attempt to use a screwdriver you will have a bad day with it .

Yeah for the heck of it I tried an electronic drill with a bit to see if it would pull it out with some torque. Negative. Took only a minute to drill out that weak little screw.

Also these pads grab HARD even in 28 degree weather I was shocked at how much they bite right off the bat. I hear a bit of metal on metal sound to them (more so than stock) but the noise is not anything that bothers me at all. I'm used to brakes making some noise since I normally run harder compounds that a street pad. No chattering, squealing, or moaning though. I did bed them in properly which does matter with carbotechs.

The XP8 work amazing! To amazing for winter tires and still being sub degree temps lol... hard braking results in ABS. I swapped the fronts over to 1521 till the summer tires are on!

The 1521 and XP share the same bedding compound so you can easily hop between them.

The bobcats (1521) feels close to the stock Brembo but maybe a bit more sensitivity in the brake pedal. You can feel almost different levels of the pedal now... I was worried the rears being XP8 still may throw the braking off a bit for casual driving and excessive emergency braking. Not at all... now I’d never run spirited driving or track with that aggressive rears and softer fronts but for the daily driving on winter tires it seems fine.

1521 are 100% a direct replacement for the stock pads.

Anyone installed those Hawk Performance pads ? Do they squeal ? I got these pads so I can get rid of that infamous squeal noise and since I don’t use this car for track they should be good enough.

I’ve only heard good things about these pads. I just ordered a set on tire rack for $95. Can’t best the price.
